D3400 uv lense

I will apologize right off the bat, I'm just starting to get into landscape photography and got a deal on a d3400 and a bunch of extra equipment. My question is I'm looking for a UV filtrt for my tamron 70-300mm lense. I have found a bunch online and on eBay but I don't want to buy a junk filter that doesn't actually function. Any ideas on where to look or a good brand to be looking for. I appreciate all your help in advance!

WHy do you think you need a UV filter? The only thing it will do is to protect your glass from getting scratched. You do need a decent quality filter though. Cheap glass will distort your photos.

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.

I agree with Don's comment above. Also, if you browse the internet, you will find a great discussion on rather or not you need a filter to protect you lens. Personally, I think it is a good idea to have some kind of lens protection filter, but a clear protection filter is a little cheaper than a UV filter and will do the job.

I recommend the Hoya HD Protector.
