Taking photo for enlargement - best settings D3300

Hi all,

I am a D3300 user and now need to take a photo of a drawing/painting that needs to be enlarged onto a banner.

The original is 32" x 16". I have taken the photo (RAW +Jpeg) and imported into PaintShop Pro X4 and all I get is 300dpi. Is there a way to import a higher resolution?

Image settings: ISO 100, 1/20, f8.0, focal length 29mm.

I do need a higher resolution as the image needs to be enlarged about x4.

thanks.

I see you're using Paintshop Pro X4... I looked for re-sampling/upsampling in PP Pro but only saw down-sampling or re-sizing smaller...

I didn't search for task-specific software... I imagine there is some, somewhere... I know graphics houses print images on vinyl as big as houses, so they must use something...

Photoshop comes with Lightroom as part of Adobe's Photography suite for $9/month... You can probably download a trial to see if it accomplishes what you need...

Apparently my daughter has PS CC 2018 so done deal, thankyou!.
At least now I know what I'm searching for (re-sampling/upsampling)

Photoshop and Lightroom can do what you want but not very good. You need a program that is designed specifically for upsizing. I recently was asked for a print on canvas that would be 4 foot by 8 foot. I used ON1 Resize I was using my D750 which is a full size sensor so it starts off a little better but using this software should give you pretty good results.
How big are you trying to print?

Repeating exactly what the Don just said. I use the same program and it is amazing. Follow the Don.
