New lens

I bought a telephoto lens by opetka, it's a beginner telephoto lens and a T mount to connect to camera. It says no lens attached after I set it up. I have read that you have to set it to manual which I did and it's still saying no lens. Is there something else I have to do?

You aren't mounting the lens directly right? You have a T-mount to Nikon F mount adaptor, right?

Yes I have the mount between, I can look through and see everything good it just won't take a picture because it says lens not attached

Have you set the camera to manual mode?

We switched the round knob on top to manual and still said same thing.
