I have noticed in preview of some pictures taken today in LV on the camera small key icon. What does it mean? I offten press that key button for keeping the focus and recomposing because I assigned it previously in menu. I took that advise to start using back focus button from the very beginning...

The AE-L/AF-L button is also used to write-protect images:

AE-L/AF-L button: Pressing this button initiates auto-exposure lock (AE-L) and auto-focus lock (AF-L).

In playback mode, pressing the button activates the Protect feature, which locks the picture file — hence the little key symbol that appears above the button — so that it isn’t erased if you use the picture-delete functions. (The picture is erased if you format the memory card, however.)

Gruyanidas, when the protect feature becomes a bit of a deal is when you go to work with your shot in an editor. Fortunately, if you download your card using ViewNX-i, you can highlight all your shots in the folder and unprotect them as a group. Saves a lot of time!

Is there a way to disable the lock feature since I'm using the back button focusing?
I can't see any reason using BBF would be a problem, unless you're trying to both review photos and take them at the same time, since the AE-L/AF-L button only locks photos when in Playback mode.

Yes this is the case, it's my girlfriend's camera and she wants to have image review and bbf.. Sometimes you might move a little within a few seconds and you actually want to refocus but at the same time you have image reviewed.
