Fireworks for newbie

Last weekend I purchased the Nikon D3300 and 18-140 lens, and tomorrow I am going to a fireworks show and I hope to test my camera.

Any advice as to what settings I should use to capture the best photo's? Otherwise I'll be sticking it on Auto! I would like to experiment with the settings, but not sure where to start.

Thanks in advance

If you don't have at least a tripod, your fireworks are going to get blurry hand held. A remote would really help. With a tripod and remote, I set my camera on bulb, ISO 250 and f-stop/9. When rocket goes up hold trigger till done. Around 3-4 seconds.

I set my camera in manual mode, with F11 and shutter set to bulb, that way you can control how long the shutter stays open
Like Just-Clayton said, you just see the rocket, hold your finger on the button

My camera was on a tripod, using the kit lens 18-55mm and set at 18mm
