D3200 off camera flash gun set up?

I guess you can use a cable from the hotshoe to your off camera flash.

I would suggest posting your scenario/application, the set up you'd like to achieve, what camera gear you already have (the flash guns etc) and how much you budget you have for options and new toys :)

Good luck, I'm sure you'll get the results you want.

Haven't got the gear yet hence why I'm asking the questions, but hoping to get if it worked the yongnuo rf-603 transmitter (work with the flash off the hotshoe), and then hook this up to a yongnuo flash. Will this work?

The 603s will create a wireless connection between the cameras hotshoe and the flashes foot.

Something you don't mention though is the flash you are considering. I ask because the 603s will only transmit "manual" flash information and not TTL (Through The Lens) metering information. I'd assume that if you are looking at YN603 triggers that you are also looking at Yongnuo flashes and probably the YN560 II, which is a manual flash (you input the settings), however, if you're looking at something with TTL then you'd need to find a trigger that will transmit that information to the flash or you're wasting your money.

Personally, I'd recommend buying the 603s and YN560 II, it's a cheap setup and you'll learn more than just letting it all be decided for you, it's what I did!

Ok thanks berkerk, yes I will be getting the yn603 triggers and i was looking at yn560's to allow me to use them off camera. Have you got these devices and flashes?

Hi Dan,

Yes I have a pair of 603s and the older 560, for the money I'd get the 560 II as it has an easier interface - LCD screen rather than led lights that have multiple meanings. If you want to save some cash (it's not a massive difference) and get the original 560 then make sure to check that it has a metal foot, as it was initially released with a plastic one and they're rubbish. You may also read that there were some problems with early batches but I never suffered them and Youngnuo seem to have sorted the issues with the 2nd generation.

Enjoy!

Hi

I am using same gears like you. Nikon D3200 and YN560III speed light.
I have got a single RF603 trigger for off camera. The reason for single trigger is that YN560III has inbuilt Rf603 and RF602 .The flash is set to Rx mode.
When the trigger is placed on to my camera and click the shutter release button on camera, the flash is not firing.
But the button on RF603 is pressed, we can see a blue light blowing on flash. Can u help me how can I use the flash off camera.
