First, welcome to the forum. Second, I'm assuming the two lenses are the 18-55 and the 55-200. The VR feature is handy on these lenses. Are you saying that the lenses you got were supposed to be VR and weren't? I would prefer to have the VR feature on the 55-200 while at 200mm. But, with a good way to stabilize the camera it is not a deal breaker if you got a good deal on it. Why the huge font?

Opps........My page fonts are "all going to be" n o r m a l size from now on Sorry for the larger then needed here......And really the Bundled deal box only listed the D-3200 as that and not the D-3200 VR !......the D-3200 that was on display had the VR switch on it and i asked the sales person what that meant....i have had a other brand in the past and it had the "IS" feature and i never used it........so thinking i will be Ok ! long shots should always require a tripod or a steady set of arms with a deep breath when YOU trip the shutter yes 18mm to 55mm and the 55mm to 200mm is what i got .........Thanks Fellow Shutter Bugs *

A tripod helps. Or, get a monopod to help support your camera. Either way. We're looking forward to seeing some pictures from you!

Just to be clear, VR is a feature built in to the lens, not the camera. Look for the VR with on the lens. If it's not there, you have an older version of the lens with no VR.

Looks like you have non-VR lenses. False advertising to say optical image stabilization when the lenses are not VR lenses.

The Vibration Reduction feature is a function of *some* lenses. Nikon calls this "VR" other lens manufacturers call it something else, like "Optical Stabilization". Regardless, this function has nothing to do with the camera body, NOTHING. It's a lens feature and lens either has it, or it does not have it.

If you want to talk to someone about this you can, but quite simply put, that's how it is.

I will take the sales slip and a copy of the ad like posted here and the 18mm to 55mm and the 55 to 200mm lens and tell them that i want to trade my non VR's for a VR lens as the ad says so lets see what they have to say about that tomorrow !........yes false advertising for sure !
*Thanks ))))Shutter Bugs ((((

Though the ad doesn't clearly state VR, it does clearly state 11 elements in 8 groups for the 18-55mm, which description only fits the VR versions of the 18-55mm.

A little added ammo, but Best BUy has gotten much better about making the customer happy.

Good luck.

The ad says "optical image stabilization." I think it might be a case of copy and paste gone bad.

Ok........I took the D-3200 in the bag with the 18-55mm attached and the 55-200mm lens to BEST Buy at 115th and Metcalf Over Land Park Kansas......went to customer service who then called a sales person out of the Camera sales unit........It was a guy named "Joe" he sold me the camera.......When i looked at the D 3200 on display i even asked joe what the switch on the side was that had a VR on it.........Joe told me it was a Nikon feature that was called vibration resist.....I clearly told Joe that i wanted that feature on the D3200......we talked for a while about the camera then Joe showed me the "Bundled Deal".........Joe Knew that i wanted the VR feature and i TRUSTED Him that inside that box was a set of lenses that had the VR feature on them Both........I bought the "Bundled Deal" and then the next day after the battery was charged......I started to check out the buttons on the camera ONLY to FIND out........Both lens did NOT have the VR Switch.........Thats when i took it back......and telling Joe what i did NOT get in the Bundled deal and i told HIM Joe you knew i wanted the VR switches......and all i wanted to do was Swap the lens for the VR ones.......Then he went and Got Steve the store manager........I told Steve about the deal and all i wanted was the VR lens NOT the old ones that i got.........Steve told me He could Not do that........he said i am NOT responsible for the Ad because he gets it from NIKON ..and what one of your had said about the lens groups that meant it was a VR in the add !...........he did say i will SELL YOU a 55-200mm for $150.00 ! I sure could Not see spending that for the lens and still having a 55mm to 200mm that i would not use.........So Steve the BEST BUY store manager told me call NIKON and tell them about the ad being wrong LOL

all the dealers including nikon are selling the 2 lens kit with non vr lens. i would buy the kit with the 18-55mm lens w/vr then look for a af-s 70-300mm w/vr on the used market. Nikon is not giving the customers many options with d3200.

If Best Buy is running the ad, then they are responsible. Someone for Best Buy should be proofreading those ads. Do you have a local TV station with a consumer reporter?

I wouldn't keep it. You will be better off with VR and most likely will always wish you had lenses with it. BJ's Wholesale Club has a D3200 kit with the 18-55mm VR and 55-200mm VR lenses, Nikon bag, 16GB card, and Wi-Fi adapter for $629.99. That will give you an idea of price.

Target has a D3200 with the 18-55mm VR lens for $449.99 with the option to also buy the 55-200mm VR at the same time for $100 off the cost of the lens (which is out of stock online). That would make the cost of the lens $149.99. It's a package deal...the lens must be bought when the body is purchased. Again, it will give you an idea of price. It will come in at roughly $600 via Target.
