All white background

Hi guys, I was just wondering how I get the all white background when shooting specific items. Like for advertisements for example. One item with an all white (or black for that matter) background.

I'm assuming it's done using software?

Nope, no software... It's one of these... change colored paper as needed...

If your object is not too large, you can use just a sheet of white or colored paper from the craft store (like maybe 18x24 inches), curved up in a big wide seamless curve to the vertical background, leaning against an empty cardboard box or something. Cannot light that from below, so you will want to use umbrellas to control the shadows. In toughest cases, you can support the subject on a small hidden spacer, so it floats an inch above the floor (regarding shadows).

Seamless paper backdrop and light the background seperately from the object.

Seamless background and very good lighting. It does take some practice and good post processing skills to get A truly white background. Black is a little easier
