How To Deal With Dirt Specs In Camera?

Yesterday I was out at the park flying/shooting RC airplanes, and I noticed that there are 2 specs of dirt, and one tiny hair visible in my view finder. They are there with or without any lenses attached, so I know they are in the camera.

I stopped by the camera shop today where I got it to ask for advice, and he tried to blow air from one of those "Rocket" air blowers up at the white piece just inside the front of the body near the top of the camera. That didn't help. Where are these dirt particles likely located that i can see them in the viewfinder, but they don't appear to show up in the actual pictures? Is it something I can likely clean myself? Or am I in for a professional servicing?

If you're seeing these spots thru your viewfinder then chances are they're on the mirror or inside the viewfinder complex. I realize it can be annoying but if it doesn't show up in your photos then I wouldn't worry too much about it. But while we're on the subject of spots, perhaps now would be a good time to test your sensor and if your sensor is dirty perhaps you could get the sensor and viewfinder cleaned at the same time.

To test for spots on your sensor do the following

Take your camera outside and turn off the auto-focus. Then set your A at the smallest setting and take 2 or 3 out of focus shots of the sky. Then download the photos and turn the contrast up to the maximum. If you have any dirt at all on your sensor, you will see it. If you do not see spots, you're good to go.
