Pls help with D3100 and external mic? :(

So due to my finals, i bought a mic which is "Rode directional video microphone".

Firstly, i know that my cam doesn't support external mic. But im still a newbie here, so i asked the store staff if they have an external mic for Nikon D3100. I stressed "Nikon D3100" when i asked. Well i thought he have knowledge with their product because when i asked if it is fine using it with my cam, since im waiting for him to recommend zoom h1 or something, he said yes. and due to the fact that i'm a beginner and knowing that he's a sales staff, i trusted him.

now, my problem is how am i going to use this??? (((
any alternatives? pls give me some.

Take it back to the store and demand your money back. Tell them what you just told us. They should refund and if not talk to the manager.

Take it straight back and slap the sales guy upside the head with the mic then and demand a refund or you'll put the mic where the sun don't shine!!!!!
(Just kidding of course)


Go back, speak to a manager and tell them you have been missold a mic which is clearly not for your D3100 and that you require a refund immediately.

+1 on the "RETURN THE MIC YOU WERE SOLD".

Buy an external recorder, this will be the best option you have, it's what I'm going to do once I get mine.
