Hi
I own a D3100 and I will be using it to photograph motorsport. I am very fond of the continuous shot setting. But I found that the continuous shot setting doesn't work fast enough when I am also using the cameras flash...
How can I fix this?
Will a speedlite help this problems?
Any suggestions will be very appreciated!
Thank You

I just tried continuous on mine using on board flash and sb-700. yes sb-700 works better. If you can do shots in manual the sb-700 works even faster.

You can get equal speed using speed light and manual in short bursts as long as the batteries are charged. Once flash batteries weaken then no it cant keep up. I just timed fps with and without speedlight for only 5sec and fps was equal. now I went past 5sec to see how it did and it slowed after that. You might get several shots off. But, not fast after a few frames.

If you are shooting motorsports you would not normally need the flash. Even the strongest flashes have a limited distance. The built in flash is very limited.

What are you trying to shoot that you need to use flash and the continuous mode?

Thank you very very very much for all your replies. Very much appreciated! I didn't really think in depth about the whole needing a flash while photographing motorsports; track lights I think should be more than sufficient lighting.
