Thinking of getting this lens for practice

I'm looking to grab a telephoto lens to mess around with a good zoom before I commit to buying a good quality one. My question is this: £69 worth it? This lens has auto-focus, right?

Yes it is autofocus. That lens normally goes for $199 US so not so sure if that is such a good deal for a second hand one. As far as a starter telephoto it should be perfectly ok and a reasonable deal for something with that reach. But I would not expect very high resolution images from this.

Keep reading that- AF is quite wonky and relatively slow. Non-APO has worse optics. Ebay is your friend, but even 55-300 or Nikkor 70-300 is a FAR better contender.

Definitely better than that Sigma. And 70-300 VR is the best in this category of zoom lenses.

apparently the lense linked is a 55-200mm should i still bid for it? only £74? 40 mins to go! need ASAP advice please

if its the nikon 55-200 vr then yes at that price its good, i use this lens, my only complaint is i wish it was 300

any issue/complaints with autofocus speed?

only time i notice this is if i am trying to spot a bird/plane (its superman, sorry) and i miss, it will focus in then back out again, otherwise no.
