Hi

I hv a d3100 with nikon 18-55 lens and has recently bought a Nikon 70-300 vr lens. I hv just strted using the camera and is new to DSLR techniques. I am going to see the Kumbh mela which is a hindu religious congragtion which is clelbrated once in 12 years on the banks of river ganga paricipated by all sanyasi religoius gurus as well as common people. i want to take nice photos as well as video clippings. as i have little time to learn these setting i would request members to suggest setting both for closeup and wide angle options and appropriate use of the lenses i have.

i know i am demanding too much of a quikfix . i appreciate ur suggestions and knowlege sharing. any good click taken will be shared with the members.

thanks

regards

Stay towards the wide side and a smaller aperture as suggested above and you'll have a nice place to start. Close up is a different game. You might try a lens reverser or whatever the heck it is and your 18-55 for that. I've found that most Nikon glass I have used can do decent close up stuff.
