D300 arriving soon

I was saving up to buy a nice used D300 but had to put it off due to some financial considerations and family obligations. I was sure that I was going to put it off indefinitely, but now, I will be receiving one as a gift from my father. It has a little over 21K on the shutter, and I was told it looks brand new. I have several lenses that will fit it, so I am good to go when it gets here. :D

You'll love it!! What were you shooting before the D300?

Thanks.
I had a D100 that I purchased from my father when he was selling off equipment. I had it for several years before it bit the dust. He had a barely used D80 that I used for a few months. I understand this camera is a totally different animal. I can't wait.

Awesome news congratulations. What a wonderful gift and at 21k its hardly run-in.

It was an unexpected surprise. My Dad said it was just getting broken in. It was used by a pro and kept in a hard case. I imagine I have all the camera I need for many years. I am grateful.

Everyone here knows that I'm a D300 fanatic! :) One of the best (if not THE best) pro level crop cameras that Nikon ever made!
So...whatever lenses you had for your other Nikons will all fit your D300.

Now...if you like, I can email you the D300 Setup Guide to set the 4 banks that are in the camera. Just PM me your email address and I will send it off to you. It's in PDF format, which is the reason I have to email it to you. I believe you will truely find it useful.

Thank you,
I will send you my e-mail. I need all the help I can get. I understand this camera is more complex than I am used to.

Jack,

Would it not be easier to upload to something like google docs and you can just share a link? Easier to maintain and share without the hassle of uploading.

Yes, I suppose it would, Skene, but I don't know how Google docs works because I've never used it! :) I keep all my PDF files in a particular file folder on my home computer, so it's really no hassle for me to email a particular file to someone.

I've often thought Nikonites should have its own (free) Dropbox account for stuff like this... Simply make the password available to registered users and we could all use it as a central repository.

Just a thought...

. I like that idea. Already have a drop box account and think it would be useful for members who want to share large files with fellow members.
