Will the D300s price drop after the D7000 is out?

I hope so, I am looking for a fair price on just the D300, don't care about the video. With all the new hardware you'd think the price would take a little more of a drop than what it has.

I almost bought a D300s last night, ebay low actuations E+ condition went for $1100, D300 are starting to go for $750-800 range so I'm getting ready, I like the idea of the 2 memory slots of the S, so maybe I'll wait a little longer.

I think Nikon will try to hold the cost through the holidays. I can't believe I've had my D300 three years already!

The good news is the D200's are holding at $500 + and I've had my D200 close to five years, still don't know everything about it but it's like an old pair of jeans, just works. I'm not sure the build quality is there on the newer models, mine has been tough as nails, not mistreated but used.

Most of the used local D300's (Not D300s) are still going for about 1k here so sounds like there are some good deals around other places.

I am watching two now, won't know until tomorrow but one is a D300S and the other a D300. Funny thing is I just had a new work opportunity for advertising spots on dvd rental machines come my way and it requires me to put together 15 and 30 second ads, requires video.

If I lose, nothing better than losing to a fellow Nikonites! Go for it...

wow what a good sport you are, actually that was just tongue in cheek, just joking,
I am waiting for Nikonites owners of the D7k to do reviews before I make the plunge into either D7k Or D300s, kinda leaning towards D7k at the mo

I am going to stick with my D200, its a great camera, maybe with time I will look at the D700 and get into the FX formant. But for now, its my D200 & D80 as back up.
I am thinking if you are looking at a D300, I am sure its a great camera, but if you own a D200 there is no point stepping up to the 300?? Mind as well go to the 700.
But thats down the road....lol. I know the D200 has it short coming being a older camera, but for me it serves well.

Hi guys, I have a D300s & love it, I couldn't imagine giving it up in a year or 2 for any new camera, but thats just me. I still have my old Nikon FE & EM along with lenses, flashes & assorted misc filters for 31 years & still use them on occaision, I have even used them on my D300s too with great results.
I am probably not in the same class of photographer as most of you are so I stick with what I have till it breaks/dies/falls apart from over use. I am a serious photog not a pro or semi-pro.
I still have software issues/downloading issues/uploading issues. Half the time I don't know if I am "Pitching or Catching" with any software.
But I do love my D300s have taken several thousand pictures in the year I have it, & I am surprised that the video came in very handy on more than one occacion too.

I would like a second body and better iso for indoor use. I have used/can use a D700 any time I want, keeping my DX glass.
