Fastest CF Card for my Used D3?

I just picked up a used D3...moving away from my D7000 to take more sports photography of my kids. I have a 70-200 F2.8 and am so excited to get started. Looking at the Nikon website it says that the Sandisk extreme Pro UDMA6 at 90mbs is the fastest I can go...does anyone know if the 160mb works? The Nikon website hasn't updated the recommended CF cards in a year so wondering if I can go faster?

Contact Nikon Tech Support...they should be able to help figure that out.

90mb/s is already plenty fast for sports. You can always try the fastest cards but I think it will be an overkill. You can probably return it if that becomes the case.

The faster cards will not speed up the write speed from the buffer to the card but they should still work. The advantage to a faster card is the read speed when downloading the images to your computer. I'm using an 800X Lexar 32GB UDMA7 card in my D700 with no problems. Just my $0.02.
