SD to Cf adaptor for D200

Hi I'm looking for advice on a good SD-CF card adaptor for my D200. I have been reading, and people have said it will work in the D200, But if possible i'd like to get a link to a reader that is known to work. People have said that the compact flash 2 card adaptor wont fit into the D200 with out filing down the card, but the class 1 will.

Can someone supply me with a link to a card adaptor that will work for sure? The reason i'm wanting to go this way is because I have a Asus transformer (android tablet) with keyboard dock with 2 SD card readers, and a couple USB ports and its a pain to half to plug in the cable and card reader. I'd lke to be able to just pull the SD card out and put it in the tablet to edit, look at pictures, ect....

Yes, I've tried it in my D200. Works great. No problem on the help. That's what we're here for. :)

Slightly off topic, but what is the maximum size CF card I can use with my Nikon D200 (I'm looking at San Discs). The manual of course was written back in 2005, so back then, CF capacity was much lower than now. Will I get full use of the full gB from that card? Also, what's the maximum speed for the CF card, etc.? Should I be purchasing an "extreme?" One last question - what is the latest firmware update for the D200?

Thanks.

The largest card for your D200 is 16GB @ 600X. I use Lexar Platinum II's @ 200X. I use the 4 GB and the 8GB cards. Don't need anything bigger than that really. Save your money....you don't really need the "Extreme" ones.

The latest (and final) firmware update is A: 2.01 and B: 2.01

If you send me your email address in a PM, I can send you the D200 Setup Guide. It's for setting all 4 banks of your camera. Quite useful when shooting in P (Program) Mode. :)

Oddly enough, the SD to CF card adapter I suggested.....I can't order from Amazon. lol I have no way of getting one for myself. Does that suck or what! LOL

How ironic, eh! :)

Well...if you already have the 32GB card, and you get the adapter....try it, see if it works. :) If it doesn't, then just stick to the 16GB as the largest you can use with it. That's what I would do anyway.
But....I don't like using big GB cards. The largest I go is the 8GB card, in either CF or SD. I'm funny like that. ;)

I'm new to Nikonites so a big HELLO to all! I came across this forum when searching for a compatible CF / SD adapter for my D200. I am still confused though as from what I've read, only Compact Flash Type I will fit (ie. 3.3mm thick) the D200 and not CF type II (5mm thick). The link posted earlier in this thread is for an Extreme CF II adapter, will this definitely fit the D200? I would love to be able to use my SD cards for ease of use with my laptop and not have to root out the card reader each time. Thanks.
