Coolpix P900. First thoughts

I have been off the forums for a while...
Anyway. I found a brick and mortar that had a new Coolpix P900 and I bought it. I wanted either a bridge camera or a D3300 to carry around with me while hiking. The D610 and D750 get really heavy after a while.
So here are a couple test shots first day I had the camera. The Old Mill Stacks are located across from where I work.
First shot is slightly zoomed in... probably at 24-30mm. The second is full zoom at 2000mm at the stack with the flag pole with a slight digital zoom added.

What I found I don't like is the quality of print over 8X10 I will have to figure out how to make prints a little better and less grainy.

What I like is the flexibility I have with this camera. It virtually can be used in any situation that has enough light.
If one uses a tripod, which is highly recommended at 2000mm :), and you have a gimble head, you might get a BIF really close up. But it will take some practice and some missed shots.
One might get in trouble with this camera on a weekend at the public beach.. but you have to show restraint. Otherwise, its a keeper. I will have to get a d3300 or d5500 another day.
My full frames sit on shelf for now.

For the level of photography that I do, I sure wish I had found out about this camera before I began investing in bodies (D5200, D610) and lenses. I could have saved A LOT of money!
I have seen examples of this camera on our local FB photo page, and along with video reviews, I am really impressed!

The detail of the christmas lights on the smokestack is incredible!

Like I said, it seems to be an incredible bridge camera. Only problems I am seeing is when printing. That could probably be an easy fix if I knew how to properly enlarge a photo and up the DPI on the print size.
I also realized that I didn't set the user setting to Fine instead of Normal JPG. That might also have contributed to the quality of print.

I opted for the P610 as the 900 was out of stock,i hope ime wrong but 10x8 may be the limit for a decent print, after all think about the size of the sensor, pleased your finding the advantages though i enjoy taking the P610 out.
