im just a newbie in photography using nikon coolpix p500. anyone here can give some advice, tip and techniques using this camera? thanks!

I shoot the D3100 but my wife shoots the Coolpix L120. BAsicall it is a point and shoot. There are different modes like sport, portrait etc but the smart auto does a pretty good job of picking for you. Not sure if the 500 shoots that way or not. Pick the most auto way that it has and start there and work your way up one feature at a time till you get to know all the feature.
Most of all just have fun.

I just did a quick Google search (it's dead easy!) and found that like many of the P series, apart from full auto mode, the P500 has a number of the features which are on a DSLR such as PASM and scene modes.

When I buy a new camera (or just about any other tech gear), I spend all the time between placing the order and it arriving on YouTube and by the time it arrives, I am quite familiar with it - so if there isn't anybody on here who has one and as it's not a particularly recent model, I'd say that YouTube is probably a good place to look.
