Wanted to get a camera for 11 year old Grandson but really was at a loss as to what to get. Pretty sure he will enjoy photography but then again, you never know. Did not want to get a cheapie point and shoot and on the other end of the spectrum had to keep in mind that there was the possibility that this camera could sit in the bottom of his sock drawer. I decided on the Coolpix P100 because it takes pretty good photographs, has auto features so he can point and shoot with success and largely because it looks like Grandpa's. Here are some snaps I took in auto mode in harsh sunlight.
I think he will have fun with this camera and I'm happy with the pictures.
