Nikon D60 and the 50mm-F1.8 lens

Does the 50mm- F/1.8 lens have auto focus on the D60 ? was thinking of getting it but was not sure.

The lens won't auto-focus on the D60, no. It's not an AF-S lens, therefore there is no focus motor in the lens. You would have to focus manually with it.

However, the newer 50mm f1.4 is AF-S - the only problem with that is it is a lot more expensive at around $430.

If i would have known about the d60 not able to auto focus (yes i did buy it) i would have bought a flash instead. Should have done more homework.
