It's not the camera that makes the photographer. Any nikon dSLR would be suitable as long as you don't need really high resolution pictures. A proper lens will help too.

One that has a large buffer would be good so you can take endless pictures quickly and then later choose the good one's...Also need low light lens

I agree with jdeg. Its not the camera. Its the photographer. Any Nikon DSLR even the entry levels can do it.

As stated the photographer makes the picture but there are a couple things you might consider. The first is the ISO to Noise ratio. The D90, D7k and D3 are better ones in the this catagory. Now before some D700 and D300 owners flame me, these are not my figures but from actual tests. You would still be fine with either of those cameras as well. I would also make sure you have a focus motor in the camera body so you can use all AF lenses and still auto focus.
You might want to look at the frames per second burst mode and see which one will work best for you. This will allow you take pictures quickly making sure you "get the shot"
The other two areas to think about is getting fast glass and at least a Class 10 card.

Just so you are aware the D3 and D700 have the same sensor :~)

Having done a bit of glamour/fashion photography I would say it depends on where your photography is going to take place. Studio photography or runway photography? If you want to excel then you for sure will need a professional camera which puts you from the D300s - D3X. All of these will work great for studio type photography but I would say that you may want to consider the D3s for runway work being it has great low light capabilities. Of course you will need a great lens also and the best out there right now is the new Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR II lens.

That may be but the study showed the D700 slightly less than the D90. Not my study. Just reporting.

This is a bit off the original topic, but I have to ask: can you provide a link to the study that you are referring to that shows the D90 has better ISO-noise performance than the D700? I have never before seen, or heard of any test that shows the D90 has better S/N ratio than the D700; better than the D300, sure, but the D700?????
