AF-S 24mm f/1.8G images won't show up in MacBook search

When I type "24mm" or even "AF-S 24mm f/1.8G" into the search box of my MacBook Pro's Finder page, I get no photos taken with this lens in the results. Typing in any other focal length, like 180mm for example, will list all the images made with my AF 180mm f/2.8D ED IF.

Any focal length typed in the search box gets proper results EXCEPT for 24mm. When I look at my EXIF data for photos taken with that lens, the lens is identified as "24.0 mm f/1.8". Unless I type that in, exactly, no photos taken with that lens show up. Photos taken with any other lens can be found by simply typing in the focal length.

Any ideas? (I'll send this question to Nikon support, as well.)

If I type in "24.0" or "24.0 mm" or any other part of the name from the EXIF data, I get only some of the photos I took with that lens in the results. The entire "24.0 mm f/1.8" has to be entered precisely to get all the photos taken with the lens.

With other Nikkor lenses I have, simply typing in the focal length with no spacing (ie: "85mm" or "50mm" produces all the files from any lens I have with that focal length. It seems that two newer lenses (I found the issue with another lens) from the f/1.8G series; the 35mm and 24mm, have different EXIF data for some reason.

Example: Photos taken with my old AF Nikkor 35mm f/2D shows "AF Nikkor f/2D" on the "Lens model" line of the EXIF. Those taken with my AF-S 18-35mm f/4-5.6G ED shows "AF-S Nikkor 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G ED" on the "Lens model" line. Those from my 24-85mm show as "AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED" ...pretty much the complete names of the lens models shows up.

But with the AF-S 24mm f/1.8G and AF-S 35mm f/1.8G, an incomplete and non-standard description shows in the "Lens model" line: "24.0 mm f/1.8" and "35.0 mm f/1.8" are the entries. And for some strange reason, a search with just a focal length typed in "normally" ("24mm" instead of "24.0 mm" will not give ANY results from these newer f/1.8G lenses. The exception is the AF-S 50mm f/1.8G, which shows up in EXIF data with its complete name in conventional format and will show up in searches for "50mm".

Now that I'm aware of this anomaly, it's not a big deal. But I do think it's peculiar that these two lenses have different EXIF descriptions and act differently with searches.

I just heard back from Nikon. They said since the lens is functioning properly, it's not their issue to deal with and I need to contact Apple.
