I've owned/used an Epson Artisan 1430 printer for several years, and was thinking about upgrading to a printer like the Epson P700 because it is capable of printing panoramic prints on 13-inch paper, which my Artisan 1430 couldn't do. (With the Artisan 1430's original software.)
Then I found out about Epson Print Layout (EPL) software in an online article or ad. There is no charge to download and use it.
So I downloaded and installed the EPL, and now I'm able to print up to 13 x 38 (inches) panoramas, with my limit being the paper I own. I could buy 13-inch roll paper and build a custom roll-paper holder and print larger than 38-inch panoramas, or cut roll paper in a longer length. (Although, the photos I currently have to print don't need more than 38-inch capability. And handling the 38-inch paper going into and out of my printer can require handling the media while the print job is ongoing.) In addition to allowing me to create bigger prints, it also allows for easier (to me) use of custom paper profiles than the original software that came with the printer.
I suggest giving this sofware a try if you print with a compatible Epson printer, such as my Artisan 1430. This software has kept me from spending either $600 to $1000 on a new printer for the time being, as I now only see me upgrading to a 17-inch printer if/when I end up needing a new printer because my current one no longer works.
