Apple older graphic cards not supported by Adobe recent updates

I felt quite a bit upset after installing the latest (last week) Photoshop CC update. Everything looked fine until I tried to resize my retouching brush. Usually, when using the keyboard shortcut Control+Option+mouse drag I could see the red preview inside the circle to help me adjust the size and hardness. But now nothing, just the empty circle and the size window that opens, but no way to actually see the effect... After fiddling around I contacted Adobe support forum and they confirmed that the older graphic cards would no longer be supporter by the new update... Bummer.

On another note, when using apple viewer and opening the info window (command+i) I get the exifs and I used to get the iso settings. Now the iso settings is no longer there but only for my Nikon jpegs, my fuji jpegs' iso shows up fine. Have any of you noticed the same thing?

Thanks for now.

I have not updated, and so I guess I'll hold off. My iMac is a 2013 model. How old is your's Marcel?

I've got a 2014 Macbook. Man, this is the kind of stuff they need to speak out loud before the update. A friend in FL had her old Mac misbehave and she just updated.

Is there anything on Adobe support stating specifically which ones? This is the kind of nonsense that loses customers. I've seriously started avoiding updates until I know they have something I want to use.

Mine is 2010 but the previous version works perfectly. I'm thankful that we can roll back to previous versions, but I was deceived that there were absolutely no warnings about this support thing. It might be ok if some heavy processing task couldn't be done with the new version, but the simple display os brush size is like a slap in the face to me.

I completely agree with you Jake.

Just as I thought that paying for regular updates would keep my head out of the water, I felt they just tied me to an anchor and threw me out the boat.

Sorry to hear about your troubles Marcel, but that's just what Adobe did to you. I'm of the persuasion that doesn't trust any software company, especially Adobe and Microsoft, to care about what I need. Do you have a backup configuration saved on the cloud that you could revert to?

I'm still running an older Mac 15.1 running the High Sierra OS and LR 6.14 and have updated LR for the final time quite a while ago. As I see it, I have no reason to go to any Creative Cloud software at this time; I'll find another way to import the latest Camera RAW files that my software doesn't support. (As of this moment, there are exactly zero that affect me.)

Earlier this year, my employer wanted me to upgrade the OS on my computer so that I could work from home, but I declined since I knew that doing so would render much of my personal use software won't work with the new OS update. I always wait to update software; I like to see what the early adopters/converters/guinea pigs have to say about the update after they've had a while to use it.

I'm assuming you were able to go back to a previous release for now?

Yes BUT, when I try to process from LR, it takes me to the newest version. I guess I'd have to uninstall the latest version for this NOT to happen. But curious as I am, I want to see the new features of PS before uninstalling it. I tried to go into the preference to change photoshop version, but it's not there, it must be imbedded inside the software somewhere. But I still can open documents with the older version when I want to since I always keep the previous version installed when I update.
