Lightroom is not seeing new external hard drives

I can't answer your question, but is the new external easy to use? I have a Seagate Personal Cloud that I haven't been able to access when I changed computers. I have to connect it to my old computer. I am sure it is fixable, but it is kind of a pain. It also changed the dates on all of my images .

In photoshop i just click open then scroll down to my back up disc

In Lightroom, go to Library on the menu. Select new folder. From there you should be able to see your external and select a folder or create a new folder. Once you do that you will see the drive on your main screen and the folder(s) that you selected or created. I need to do this too in the near future.

I'm not a big LR user but this should get you where you want to go...

From the Develop module Navigator panel click on the little "+" sign to the right of "Folders" and then on "Add Folder". A new Windows Explorer window will open. Navigate to the drive you want to add and click on "Select Folder" then on the "Include Subfolders" button and follow the prompts from there.

Great. Looks like there are 2 ways to get there. I didn't even think to click the + that Fish pointed out. I need to do mine.
