What's the BIGGEST mouse available?

Due to chronic tendonitis in my right hand, I am having immense difficulty using my current mouse. It's smaller than normal which of course doesn't help. I'm looking for one that is as wide as possible but don't need any bells and whistles. All I use are the center scroll wheel and the right/left click buttons. Does anyone know of a really HUGE mouse to suggest? Mine is wireless but I'd consider wired if it is big.

Unfortunately this one is no longer available. :( It looks like it would have been ideal.

It appears to be available for sale here: Great Big Stuff

What about something like a track-ball? I know sometimes those can actually be worse than a mouse for some people with tendonitis but I thought I'd ask...

Thank you for the link! I will order one and see how it works. As for a trackball, I've never tried one. A FB friend also suggested I look at them so today I will go mouse hunting. But the link looks to be the largest mouse out there that I could find.

The problem is I need to stretch my thumb open as much as possible. With my little mouse, my palm is cupped making it terrible to open my hand when I'm finished. Thanks again, Paul. :)

I moved to a Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball Computer Mouse when I had some mobility issues and had to stay in my recliner and could not use a regular mouse. I can sit the trackball on the arm of the chair or even on my chest/stomach and use it with ease. your hand does not have to move at all. Just your thumb and one finger. IT does take a little to get used to but once you do it is great. I use it with Lightroom and Photoshop all the time.

I cindy, if you can move your thumb without pain I would recommend a Logitech track ball. I have used one for the last 10 years and love it.

Thanks for letting me know how a trackball works. Unfortunately I'm trying to minimize my thumb's movement and keep it stretched out to the side as much as possible. I appreciate the info though!

Regarding trackballs, I would not like the ball on the side for thumb use. Some trackballs have the ball in the center. I used one like that many years ago. You can use one finger or several fingers to roll the ball, even the side of your hand.
Something like this:

I'm not at all familiar with this particular item, but I would bet any of those buttons could be configured for a regular click. There is also a little video in with the product pics showing some other models and they mention hand pain.

Thanks, Nick. I'll give that a closer look. :) I just don't want a ball on the left. One like you posted might be able to be used with either hand which would be helpful. I tend to switch hands when my right hand gets uncomfortable.

Have you ever tried a touch pad? When I use my MacBook Air, this is what I use and find it as fast and even more comfortable to use than the mouse. If you could get one to plug on your computer, you probably would like it.

That looks interesting, Mike. Definitely is wide side-to-side which is what I need. Thanks, Mike!

My laptop has a built in touch pad, but I turned it off. I kept accidentally hitting it while typing which would move the cursor all over the place. I didn't know they made separate ones though. That would eliminate me hitting it when typing so will check this out as well as Mike's suggestion. Thanks, Marcel!

The mouse arrived today, and it's ENORMOUS! Fortunately it is as big as I hoped. The pics don't do it justice. The mouse is slightly larger than my hand (see bottom photo). I should have lowered my hand slightly as the perspective is off a little. I do have very large hands so this allows me to stretch out my thumb. Unedited cell phone pics.

And it is simply a basic mouse meaning just the one scroll wheel with right/left click buttons. That's all I wanted so it's fantastic. Thanks Horoscope Fish for finding a valid place from which to order! :)

Tomorrow my Pastor is retiring, and there will be a long luncheon filled with all kinds of activities (and lots of people). That means I will have a ton of pics to edit. And it is the editing that has caused more discomfort with my trigger thumb than any one other activity.

Wow... That's a big mouse! Glad it worked out for you, Cindy. :)

It IS huge but is also cheaply made. So I will check out the Kensington Trackball that Nick linked, too. The Kensington looks more durable. I'm afraid if I drop this one once, that will be the end of it.

What I might do for the time being is to use this huge mouse only for editing just so I don't break it too soon. I will need it for editing starting tomorrow. Thanks again, Paul. :encouragement:
