DxO acquires Nik Collection

Glad to hear that. Will be interesting to see what happens with pricing. I wonder what they will do to incentivize users to upgrade to the DxO version and how they will fit it into their current products.

I sat on the fence for the longest time before pulling the trigger and spending @ $149. Within 30 days, they released it free and issued a full refund. For those who paid, it would be nice if they would take that into consideration and offer a lesser upgrade price.

I have used Silver Efex Pro for years and still have my original CD in a box!

I did download the full set free from Google and have used it very occasionally, it will be interesting to see what DXO do with it and as stated by others what will the costs be?

At least it is being revived.

I downloaded it after Google bought it to replace the version 1 I bought long before and must say, never really used it much. If they start charging I will probably pass on it unless they add some compelling additions. Last week I did save an otherwise noisy low light portrait with dFine but PS can do a better job if one takes the time.
My two best image software investments have been LR and PS and once the investment in time to learn PS to a level that is not more destructive than without it, it becomes very powerful but a never ending learning commitment. I doubt many except hard core professional photo retouchers do it justice.

It's apparently already available, I just got an email to upgrade my DXO optics Pro 11 to DXO Photolab for $69.00
Full versions are 99.00 for the essential edition and 149.00 for elite edition. Price will go up to 129.00/199.00 Dec 1st.
