Capture NX-D help.

In the current issue of N Photo mag 68, the Nikon skills DVD has an extra tutorial video on how to clean a composition with the retouch brush in NX D.

I am trying to follow him but fall at the first hurdle. Firstly I am told to click on the EDIT button and to look for the auto re touch brush.

The Capture NX-D that I have got does not have an edit retouch brush. It has the edit section already open but no icon or anything for re touch.

I guess that I am doing something wrong, this is a screen shot of my Capture NX-D.

Here are a couple of screen shots to show you where to find the Touch-up brush. I don't remember ever using it on NX-D so I can't say how well it works. Ha!

The first shot, the Red Circle is around the icon to click.

Then this shot shows the menu for the brush.

Hope this gets you to where you want.

I have clicked on UPDATE just in case it is an old version but it must be ok as no updates are available.

On a Google search I have followed this where I am told to click on a plaster? icon but I do not have that icon.

I didn't look at the link you posted, but you may have to download ver. 1.4.3 I think that is the latest version of NX-D . In the past I have found that sometimes checking updates does NOT show the latest version and you just have to download it and install it as a new program. Poor setup, but that seems to be how it is on Nikon

endless trouble getting NX-D to run on W 10/edge............fine on firefox.

I am having problems understanding this statement. What does the browser have to do with using Capture NX-d? I may be missing something in the way I use it, but I really can't see the connection.

All I can tell you is that my windows PC that runs W10 has problems with Ebay/DXO / Slingbox /ND-x when opened from a Edge list ...with Firefox all work perfect

OK, I will take your word for it. I'm running on WIN10 but don't open it using Edge or Firefox. It is just like opening MS Word, Excel or any other program on my computer. Oh well, glad you are able to solve your problem by using FF.

Ummmmm... I think you're confused.

Windows 10 is an operating system, while Firefox, Edge, Chrome, etc. are applications; specifically they're browsers. NX-D and DxO Optics Pro are also applications; specifically they're photo-editing applications. You don't run NX-D, or DxO "on firefox"; you use Firefox to browse and interact with websites. Applications "run" on the operating system.

Horroscope ..I think my computer is confused ...I have two screens left is on fire fox and right on edge.
Various programmes will not run on edge but the ND -x runs fine on the left but not the right ...Changed it over to my MAC so all ok .

NO! That's why I can't understand the issue.

That is what I just was looking up. There is no reason to have a browser open to run the software. I thought maybe it was online editing, but it isn't.

There is something else happening, but I guess it doesn't matter since the OP solved the issue. Maybe something is wrong with the PC, and it was a coincidence about the browsers. Why you need two different browsers open is another mystery. Doesn't really matter at this point I guess.

I did read that capture has issues when being launched from an external source like Lightroom.

Happy editing.

Thank you very much CW, it was a bit of a struggle at first but I got there in the end. I have not taken many photos of late due to the cold English weather but hopefully in a week or so I hope that it starts to get warmer as I am desperate to get out and take some photographs.
