Anyone Upgraded to Ps 2017 ??

Wanted to see if anyone here has upgraded to Ps 2017 yet (released this week)? In the past the major releases like this have killed all the connections to various filters (Nik, Topaz, etc) as well as custom toolbars and I wanted to know if that happens again before upgrading - I've got just installed some new stuff that I'm in the middle of learning and I'd rather stay stuck on that than spend a couple hours reconnecting everything.

I have not. I usually wait for you to do it, to see how messed up it is.

I updated the other day. Topaz plug-ins installed in CC 2015.5 migrated to the new 2017 install just fine but the NIK plug-ins, strangely, did not; I have no idea know why. After re-installing NIK appears to be working normally. All the Actions I had installed in 2015.5 migrated. A lot UI customizations were reset, which is a pain, but I don't have any custom keyboard shortcuts installed so I can't tell you if those migrate or not.

I've upgraded, but I don't use PS enough to have noticed a difference. I don't have custom toolbars set up. Having just launched PS 2017, I don't see my Nik or Topaz filters ... but I'm not 100% certain I had them installed on this computer.

I'll check my laptops to see if I have one that hasn't been upgraded that does have the filters installed, and then I'll test the upgrade.

I've upgraded and noticed that the clone tool works differently.
Clone tool: From what I see the "selected spot" remains the selected spot and no longer moves adjacent to the brush.
other than that I haven't had it long enough to say.

@BackdoorHippie, I updated yesterday and some of the plug-ins loaded and some did not. There was a file with with Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5 that had a plug-ins folder and I copied those that were omitted and pasted them into the 2017 plug-ins folder.

I restarted PS and everything was there and working.

No, I haven't yet done it myself. Watched a Scott Kelby video where he mentioned the Nik tools weren't installed but all he had to do was to drag them over. He didn't say how any others went, but he did say Adobe recommends going to the manufacturer's sites and downloading/installing all new plug-ins (just relaying what I remember he mentioned). He also said that is what Adobe recommends. Supposedly there is an option to keep the old version of PCC along with the new OR have the new version replace the old. When I do the update, I think I'll keep my old version just in case. All I have is the Nik Collection and know I will have to install it again.

Confirmed, when I upgraded my laptop to 2017, Nik got lost. A simple reinstall fixed it, but still.

this laptop doesn't have Portrait Pro or Topaz installed, so no idea how the others would have faired.

I just reinstalled Nik tonight on 2015.5 (I think). So I'm going to pass for now on the update at least until I get fed up of getting update reminders.

Anything really worth updating about?

I did the upgrade on my mac and it went OK except the Nik plugins stopped working. Rather than re installing from scratch I discovered it leaves the previous version on your system so I just copied the plugins folder contents across to the new versions plugins folder and restarted. Everything then worked fine.

That is what I did. PS saved a folder named 2015.5 and it had a folder called plug-ins. I just copied the missing ones and restarted PS.

I know that Scott Kelby mentioned just copying the folder over to the new version, but when I updated Photoshop earlier today, I also updated Camera RAW, Bridge, and Lightroom. The Nik Collection didn't automatically install, and since I don't know how to copy the folder, I opted to run the software again since it's still on my hard drive. It installed in the new versions of Photoshop, Bridge, and Lightroom.

By the way, when I installed Photoshop, there was an advanced tab I opened. There was a box already checked to remove the previous version of Photoshop so I unchecked the box. Figured it will be better to keep the old version just in case. ;)
