    Printer Suggestions

My wife and I have been talking about a printer to take some of my photos and print them. I have taken a few to places and had them printed, but she would like for me to get one for home.

Looking for suggestions. I am considering two Canon printers. The Pro 10 and 100. There is a significant price difference. Mostly this would be used to print photos for gifts, but who knows...

Is anyone using either of these. What might drive me to go from the 100 to the 10. Any help would be appreciated. Decisions like this are hard for me these days.

I asked about this in the past. I think it might have been Fred Kingston who said the biggest differences are in the types of ink used. One is for more permanent colors that don't fade over time (the more expensive one). I'm still deciding on the less expensive one because after its rebate, it comes in at a really good price and would allow me to print 11x14.

The Pro 10 isn't a great deal even with the rebate. Right now after the rebate, the price will be $449.99. If you read what I posted in that other thread, the price after rebate and instant savings was $249.99.

I don't recall what the price of the Pro 100 was back at that time, but I just pulled the trigger for one myself.

Cindy, I just went to B&H... the rebate you mentioned ends today. Given that price, with the rebate, I am going to pull the trigger. Thanks for the direction and the other thread. I will let you know how it goes.
@FredKingston thanks for the information on inks in the other thread and your endorsement of the 100 model. That and the rebate sent me to the "confirm order" button.

Have you thought of Epson printers ? I have used a few over the years.

I did look at them. I have a friend with the Canon Pro 10. I like her's but I could not get my head around the price. Based on the feedback I go I pulled the trigger on the Pro 100.
