Looks like I'll be on Linux for a few weeks.

Totally screwed up Win 10 by resetting it. It was halfway through with the operation, when it informed me that it could not finish the reinstall. Gave me a "cancel button" to hit. I hit it and restarted my computer. "No operating system present."

Oh crap!! Luckily I still had a few older linux ISOs on a few CDs. I installed an older version of Linux Mint, then downloaded the newest 17.3 Rosa version. Reformatted my whole hard drive, made a root ,swap and home partitions and installed it.

No big deal since I'm shopping for a new computer anyway to run LR and PS. Unfortunately it will be a month before I get my quarterly safety bonus so I can afford the new puter.
Until then I better brush up on my "sudo" skills! HA!

I swear if I could run LR and PS on Linux I would never need Windows again.

Have you got the Win10 iso?
If so: You should be able to install it again (and it should activate when connected to internet, just skip the serial code on install) if it is not to much trouble.

But ja, It would be nice to have more comercial software on Linux.

I also had problems with Windows 10. I could not get it to properly configure my 1200x1600 LG monitors, so I had to go back to Win 7.

Anyway for the limited time that I used it, I found it to be irritating with no user intervention possible while installing updates (There are many that are simply not needed/used by me). So I will wait till the next version and continue with Win 7

No. Theres a hidden partition on Windows to re install. It was probably corrupted.

I found my recovery disks for Win7 that I made after I bought the computer. I re-installed it last night (took a few hours), and this morning I finally finished getting rid of all the manufactures (Acer) bloatware .

Now to download and re-install Adobe CC, that giant bloated monstrosity!

I recently decided to format my hard drive and start over with Win 10. I was running with Win 10 but the computer had slowed down a lot so starting fresh was the best option. You can download the iso from Microsoft and load it on a DVD or USB drive and then boot from that and install it on a freshly formatted drive. Once I did this my computer runs like a brand new one. I also installed a new video card with 2GB of memory and now LR and PS can access the GPU acceleration and that speeds it up even more.

Adobe has sent me mad for the last few days
Having issues with the new photoshop and nik collection plugins, uninstalled nik collection then reinstalled, but still no plugins,

To cut a long story short, I had to reinstall adobe cc, and reinstall photoshop, a real headache for the last few days.

But now all working.

Sometimes logging out and than back in to CC will help. Depending on the problem.
I would love to replace LR and PS but I invested so much time learning it. I'd hate to have to learn new programs all over again.

LR I could probably make due without, but not PS.

I really like LR, I just need to start using PS more,
