Windows Vista 32 bit version of Photoshop is required please - can you help?

I have a Nikon D3300 and a Canon 550D and have shot in RAW.

My old laptop is Windows Vista - 32bit and Adobe CC will not work on the laptop.

I do not have access to any other technology, be it pc or laptop.

Does anyone know what latest version of Photoshop will run on Windows Vista - 32 bit, please, and how I might get a legit copy?

Many thanks
Kevin

If you're looking for a standalone version of the CS6, that's very hard to get these days since Adobe is focusing purely on the ppm system with PS. I got word today they managed to get a copy/serial for me but not until I have it in my hands, I'll be certain.

What you could do is find an older version of PS and use that on the laptop. There's still the full standalone version of CS2 available at Adobe which does everything it needs to do. It should run on Vista without any problem since it predated it. Evidently it doesn't work with any new plugins but it does work with Camera RAW.

Or you could check the system requirements of other versions and see if you can buy a used copy. This however is a gamble since serial numbers are involved and could be registered already.

Thanks for your reply, J-see.

I've been on Adobe all morning trying to find a solution - I did not see a download page for CS2. I'll have another look - thank you for the heads up.

I thought registration could be transferred? If not, I'll have to think again!

The CS2 is on the "download - other" page. It's not on the trial download or download - updates/upgrades page. The third option.

You normally should see the different versions and next to it, the serial needed. It's possible you need to create an account but I'm not sure of that. It only work with windows, for Mac you need a very old Mac to run it.

It requires a later version of Photoshop to read files from the D3300 (not sure about the Canon). You can use Adobe's RAW Converter to convert the D3300s NEF files into something the earlier versions of PS might be able to read maybe????

Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras

Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications

To read the files direct from the D3300 you would need Camera RAW 8.4 and the only Photoshops that will run ACR 8.4 is CS6, CC & CC 2014. EXCEPT, looking at note 5 it appears the ACR needed will not run on Vista, so you will need to use the Converter.

Adobe Camera Raw Help | Adobe Camera Raw 8.4 or later on Mac OS 10.6, Windows XP, and Vista

Michael posted this for Bill a while back--please be sure to check the specs of your computer to see if PS2 will be supported. Since I haven't downloaded it from the link provided, I have no clue whether it is valid or not. The reply below comes from this thread: http://nikonites.com/computers-and-software/27314-photoshop-help-needed.html#post386778

I forgot, CS2 doesn't read RAW directly but you simply convert them to TiFF. I do about everything in TiFF.
