I got an e-mail form Nikon today describing an app that allows you to use wifi connection to your smartphone (Android or Apple) and that is available in the Apple Ap store. Could not find it there. Has anyone found this app or used it, and if so, how does it work? I just ordered a wifi connector for my D7100 and didn't realize it may be more involved than I thought. Thanks.

Nikon Wireless Mobile Utility. When you use it, make sure you are not connected to a wireless network.

Hope this helps.

I ditched the Nikon software for something called DSLRDashboard, which is much better - I'm not sure if its available for Apple, but have a look and you will find something similar - The Nikon software just fires the shutter and copies the results over, whereas 3rd party apps let you actually change shutter speed, aperture etc. and even advanced stuff like time lapse, bracketing etc.

I see an iPhone APP, qDSLR Dashboard. I don't know anything about it except it has a $10 price tag. The few reviews seem good, however. Gatorbait, why don't you get it and let me know how it is. LOL!

I've plated with WMU before. It's "ok", but disappointed it's mobile only and not desktop oriented.

Has anyone worked with a product called CamRanger?

How'd it taste when you plated it? I'm just guessing that's what that means.

I've seen CamRanger. I'll have to revisit and see if I can trigger any memories to share.

CamRanger appears to require use of their hardware, but not 100% sure about this.

It does use their own Wifi remote. Also has two different apps so that one controls the camera, while the other app can be used to show clients images live, etc. So it allows multiple devices to view live, and it can join an existing wireless network versus requiring it's own.

I just might check it out - takes me a while to work through computer programs, etc. so you might be wiping off cobwebs before I review it...I have sooo much to learn!!!
