Focus stacking software

Old and unanswered thread. I have had the Helicon trial loaded for quite some time and tried stacking maybe a dozen times. Anyway I have only one stack that I would call good, not excellent, just good. All of the rest went to the trash can immediately.

So, has anyone had good success and how did you achieve it?

Had this setup secure with no possibility of shake save for an earth quake. In Helicon I tried each of the three methods and in this case the pyramid worked the best. The best is still not that good. No other post processing.

I tried Helicon... I'm on a Mac... I had a lot of problems with it doing DNG conversions, and their support was almost worthless... They kept referring me to documentation passages that were obviously out dated... I ended up using ZereneStatcker

Are you satisfied with the results from the Zerene software? From 1-100 how would you rate the software?

Well.... I wrote a lengthy comparison... and it apparently disappeared...

I'd rate Zerene as well as Helicon for what it's supposed to do.

Helicon is in Ukraine, and I wasn't going to make a money connection to a Ukrainian account. Zerene is in Wa, USA...

Helicon stacks DNG files.
Zerene stacks Jpeg and Tiff...
