Like you I'm not all that thrilled with my Flickr (Pro) account so I'm currently a few days in on a 14-day free trial with Zenfolio. Once again, I'm not all that impressed. Can't quite put my finger on why, either.

Maybe we're just impossible to please?

I thought Flickr was free...no?
Depends on when, and how, you joined... Flickr used to offer subscription based Pro-level accounts, as well as free, but all that changed recently and all new accounts are "free" accounts. I'm not even sure where I stand, now, with my Pro account. Obviously little to no reason to keep paying for it though it sticks in my mind there is some benefit to keeping my "Pro" status, it just escapes me at the moment.

recently we had a person here that had a Flickr account and I was able to go on there and download the full size photo and edit it. He had the regular photos protected and it was only when I got the the full size one that I found it wide open.

I have recently gotten a Zenfolio account and so far have been pretty happy with it.

I like Zenfolio a lot, great if you are going to sell. You can set up private galleries for clients if you do weddings or events.

:(
I do intend to start a website sooner than later, working on it as well.. but as you would know it's taking it's own sweet time...
I am trying to incorporate some ways of selling directly through the website, but not very sure how successful that's gonna be...
I like the idea of having my own website, but i would also like to have an opportunity to sell, if someone ever wants to buy ;)
So am stuck in a quandary of sorts

I use a web host , $6/mo, unlimited everything, and website design software. The software is WYSIWYG, no coding knowledge required with a very simple learning curve. Great flexibility, privacy and protection. It allows division of personal and commercial content and controlled access. (no affiliation with either provider)

Went ahead & cancelled my subscription.
Apparently it would have auto renewed for the next term & there doesn't seem to be an option to keep it active till the renewal date.
They said they owe me $1.65 :p

On to better things now hopefully
