d5000 ac adapter?

Jdeg - Dosen't the D5000 have a DC plug on the left side? The users manual should have the information on what you need. I have the D90 and it's located on the left under the rubber seal cover with several other plugs. If it's there it should say DC IN. If that plug is there all you need is the EH-5A AC Adapter. If there is no DC plug then you will also need the EP-5 Supply Connector. The EP-5 Supply Connector replaces the D5000 battery and has the DC IN plug connector on the other end.

Why in the world would they put all those plugs there and no DC IN????? Makes no sense. In any case the supply connector has one end that will go in the battery compartment and replace the battery. The other end is the DC IN plug for the AC adaptor.

Happy shooting,
Joseph

Just for curiosity sake, why do you want to plug it in. Are you using it with a computer to live continuous view or are you downloading your pictures directly from the camera and running out of battery power?

time lapse photography - I'd like to put the camera on a tripod and let it go all night.

That would be interesting. What specifically are you going to shoot all night? I would like to see some of those shots when you get them done. Very curious.

I like that! You said you took that over an hour with 200 photos, about one every 20 sec, is that about right? Asked you the same question in that thread. I have lightroom on my mac and would love to put together something like that.
