I found a couple plugins/templates for lightroom 3 that will allow you to take a series of timelapse photos and export them to video using the slideshow feature in lightroom. Pretty neat!

here's a video:

here are the files:
http://lightroom-blog.com/presets/lrtimelapse.zip

How to install the files:
  • Open Lightroom Preferences (Lightroom menu on Mac, Edit menu on PC).
  • Click the Presets tab, then click ‘Show Lightroom Presets folder.
  • The Slideshow Preset (SS 24fps Timelapse.lrtemplate) goes in the Slideshow Templates > User Templates (if this doesn't exist, create it)
  • The video preset (720.lrtemplate) goes in Video Presets > User Presets folder (if this doesn't exist, create it)
  • Restart Lightroom
How to use the files:
  • Save your image sequence into a Collection
  • Open it in Slideshow
  • Select the ‘24fps Timelapse’ Template (the ‘Slides’ duration appears to say 0.0s. Ignore this)
  • Click on the Export Video button at the bottom of the Left panel
  • From the Preset list, choose ‘720P Timelapse’. It should be top of the list.
  • Name your file and click Export. Wait for it to finish.
  • You now have a timelapse video!

I tried it out yesterday and it works great! I need to find a more interesting subject for the time lapse though. Could also use an AC adapter so I don't have to rely on battery power.

Hi
I'm new at this... I downloaded the templates. Did a quick test and it works fine. The templates options are pretty much similar: 25FPS, 27FPS, 29.97FPS, 30FPS. Aside from having "different FPS" what difference are there between these setups? I mean between 29.97 and 30... there's no way that someone can see the difference... why would I choose one over the other?

Like I said I'm new to this... been doing a lot of reading and watching videos... Hope you can clarify this for me

I just found this website.... I just bought a D7000 and I love it. I will be back here to anwser more of my questions

Thanks!
