Perfect lens for D60 Nikon camera

As of July 2010 I don't think there's a 50mm Nikon lens that will auto-focus on a D60.. Plus a 50mm will actually give you a 1.5 crop factor of 75mm on a D60 DX style Nikon.
The F1.8 35mm AF-S lens OTOH will auto-focus on your D60, is fantastic in low light, and will give you the DX equivalent of a 53mm focal length! So yes, I would definitely say the new 35mm F1.8 would be more useful in most cases on a D60. (Especially if you like auto focus?)

Greywoulf is absolutely right. My niece has the D60, and she uses the 35mm 1.8 lens. Fantastic lens......and it autofocuses on her camera. Great in low light situations, too. That would be the one to go with.......not the 50mm.

Nikon just in the last 3 weeks or so came out with a 35mm f1.4, don't know the price, but i'm guessing it will be pricey. I have both the 50mm f1.4 and the 35mm f1.8. They are both great in low light conditions. Technology changes so fast. I think i've had my 35mm f1.8 for only 8-10 months now. I wish i would have known they were coming out with the 35mm f1.4, i would have waited. This is an expensive hobby, but an enjoyable one.

In my above entry, i thought the new 35mm f1.4 was geared toward the dx bodies but i think it is for the fx bodies. I think it is still usable on dx bodies but u lose some of its capabilities, oh and its price tag is hefty at about 1799.00 thru b&h photo. A little too rich for me.
