  1. Diwali fireworks 2015

    I'm not a fan of fireworks due to the amount of stress they cause to pets. It however, a great opportunity for practising night photography.

    These were taken from up on the Berea overlooking Durban. It was a lovely evening spent in the good company of fellow photographers and close friends.

  5. First Try with My New Baby - Nikon D5100 - Portrait Photography in Low Light (HDR)

    I am attaching my 1st TRY with Portrait Photography in Low Light with some editing in HDR.

  6. Some fun star gazing

    Went out to the west desert in Utah for a little sky action. The galaxy is an amazing thing it was so beautiful. I'm am so happy the weather cooperated with us.
    I bumped the focus on a couple of the shots but I think these are the best of them all. not at all bad for what the conditions were as far as equipment. (not using a heavy weight to

  7. Holiday to Spain

    Hi in just over 4 weeks I will be taking my holidays in sunny Spain or at least (I hope its sunny Spain)

    And any advice on taking sunset or sunrise photos would be helpful

  8. Long Daylight Exposure Lessons & Breaking The "Rules"


    I went out yesterday to try my hand at some long, daylight exposures for the first time. There are rules for just about every type of photography, and for this type the one thing that I always read is, "Frame your photo, set your focus and get an exposure reading with the ND filter off, then put the filter on, adjust your shutter speed

  10. My days off! Let the adventure begin.

    Of late I have suffered the motivation to get out and take photos. I relate this due to the ever present heat (37deg C today) and the fact that I got into my mind that there was nothing to photograph in the "dry season". Honestly I could not be more wrong, all I need is motivation and a keen eye. Yes maybe I need to look harder for the wetlands
