  1. Why Not a Blog Y8D220

The 2021 is nearing an end, and the NPS members are counting the days till their Z9 arrives! The best of the best for Nikon users. I personally am going to hold off as I already have the Z7, Z6ii, Z50, and a Fc.

That said I must say a few features of the Z9 are inviting. First is the elimination of the shutter, gone is the 100+ years

  3. My 35mm film kit

Like most of us, I shot 35mm film for many years. My father had a Minolta XG-7 and I bought a new XG-1 in 1979 or so (yes, I actually saved up paper route money). My kit consisted of the XG-1 body and a 50mm f1.7 lens. I shot that until the mid 90s when I moved to a Minolta Freedom Zoom 150 35mm point and shoot. From there I went to a Canon digital

  4. The 52 Project Week 3: Sad

I started this project with the intent to go down and capture some of the protesters in the park and the “sad” was how our country has turned so soft with “everyone’s a winner” attitude that these folks forgot how to actually lose. When I got to the

  5. How tight is your Photography License Agreement?

Advantages of the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G over the 50mm f/1.4D-binding-agreement-1024x520.jpg

The “mine” mentality in the photography world sometimes gets taken way too literally. While, yes, as photographers we “own” all of our images – the images given to a client are “theirs” to use in ANY manner that their license agreement states – period.

All too often, I see photographers with

  6. 52 Photos Week 2: Fur

    old Nikon F2-d500_act_0120-edit.jpg

Rocky Mountain Mule Deer: The Mule Deer gets its named for its ears, which are large like those of the mule. This doe was with a small group - and her buck was not far behind.

Unlike the related white-tailed deer, mule deer are generally more associated with the land west of the Missouri River,

  7. 52 Photos Week 1: Where You Live

    old Nikon F2-nikon-d500_act_0075.jpg

I live in Fountain, Colorado - just south of Colorado Springs home of America’s Mountain - Pikes Peak. But for this challenge, I thought I would show you something just a bit different. When most people think of Colorado, they think the Rocky Mountains and for the most part they would be right. What they

  8. The 52 Photos Project - all welcome!

I have created a new group called The 52 Photos Project. The focus of this group is to Inspire and to be Inspired! Each week, you'll have a theme to follow. The idea is to think Out of the Box! If the theme is Weather, that could be a "Storm" or a Weathered Barn; so put some thought into it.

I'll try to lay out the whole month,

  9. Mountain Landscapes

I have already posted an album with some of my mountain scapes mostly taken at sunrise or sunset.

I'm not sure how many South Africans there are in Nionites and how many of them spend time in the Drakensberg.

As a family we go there at least once a month to camp and just get out and about. I thought that blogging about the
