This is a rare site in the UK, however I am guessing my American friends might be able to name it ;)

Oh man! Lol, you're really testing us!

Ok, I know a number of cars pre-50's had split front windshields. I guess it was easier than trying to mold and mass produce curved glass. Off the top of my head I'm gonna say this is either a late-40's Dodge Coronet, which came as a 2-door coupe (which this pic looks like), or an early 50's DeSoto. Both had that front scoop if I recall, so that's my guess. If it ain't them, then I'm stumped :)

You are both very close to the years the car was produced, so well done for that, but you have not got the model as yet.
If nobody gets it soon, I will post a picture of the rear of the car tomorrow and see if that helps ;)

Answer time - It is a GM Stylemaster produced 1946.
Additional info - This particular car has passed it's MOT (road test - not sure what the equivalent is in the States?) for the last 10 years in row (info avaiable online in the UK by plate no.). You are lucky if you you get a newer car that passes for a few years in a row nowadays. However I suppose the owner only uses on occasions.

Here is a 2 door version of the 47. Old friend I have known since High School built this one.

500 Bonus Points and a "King of Kar Trivia" sash to anyone who can identify either of these two beauties on display at the Space Farm auto museum. (Hint: there are only two of the red car known to exist.)

Good luck!
