I did something different

It's 2 images on top of each other. Been trying this technique for a little while, and finally yesterday I came a step closer.

Now I'll have to find a model for more images (it's me in this image), I really love "trick photos".

Be gentle! I'm a bit sensitive about posting this, lol..

I think you're on to something. I like the post processing because it gives this image more power and makes it retro. Almost like if time was suspended as well.
I hope you find your model and dig this a little more. Thanks for posting.

Thank you, Marcel. I found one who wants to be part of it, that's great. Hope we can meet up soon.

Sometimes I really feel like photography are a piece of something deep inside me, I guess this is why I sometimes get nervous showing it. I posted it on my private Facebook and I almost started to sweat! Have no idea why - first of, I'm only friends with people I am actually good friends with and second, what to be nervous about? It got nothing to do with critique, as I do enjoy this, like looking at the image through someone else's eyes. So I think it's because it feels like I am showing something very private..

But hey. I'm still alive and happy ;)

I guess there are good reasons that makes some of us want to be on the back side of the camera. :)

Great image, have you considered a series all with you as the model, just think it would add another interest angle.

I have been trying for a long time to find a way to do a series with a meaning, which doesn't make sense for anyone else than me (and it shouldn't, it should make the viewer make up their own sense). I've though about using a child and about using someone who I would click with, while working with them. But haven't thought about myself. It would be difficult but maybe not impossible.. Thanks for your idea :)

Putting your art out for open critique is sort of like showing baby pictures for the first time and hoping that no one calls it ugly.

I really like your photo(s), and the post processing, as Marcel mentioned, really adds a lot to the mood. Having a model would certainly make life easier, but using yourself as a model never hurt Cindy Sherman.

Mai, Excellent! I think you did very good... The shadows of the body, hair and arm are perfect... I am always amazed at what you tackle and succeed at. This is another case of that... I someday would look like to try somethingh like this...

Do not be afraid to show your work here... it is personal... but the critiques you get from here are from friends who share the passion, are impressed but also trying to help!

Look forward to seeing more.... :)

Mai, the model would surely make it easier but I really like the idea of a series that features you... a series of self portraits like this, while difficult, would be so special too!

Haha, maybe you are right!

Cindy Sherman did a pretty darn good job with it, yes.

I do know and I deeply appreciate all the help you all are giving! I believe my family does too, as I get pretty annoying living with, when there is something I "need" to do but don't know how yet, lol.

The shadows are partly real (I used open blinds in front of the window, sunny day) and partly done with burn tool + black brush (low opacity) on several layers, blended with soft light, hard light and some with just a lower opacity on the layer. I think the shadows got 7-8 layers. Maybe this can be done in a more simple way.

Had a few mushrooms and suddenly I grew horns (just kidding ;))

Not sure if I prefer color or bw?

VERY cool series. The first one tends to give me the chills! The second too, but not as much. Both the B&W and color are good, and it's hard to choose between the two.

Now you make me want to learn this "trick" technique! :)

Aweome!
Totally love everything about the levitating shot..
I don't believe a 'real' model would do any better ;)
and yeah, cool tattoos too!

You really have the artist gene, Wud. Your work motivates me to try new things. Now if I could only harness a little of your imagination, I'd be set
