i have seen then catching squirrels and taking them back to the nest, supposed to be good protein for the young ones

They will take anything from voles to ducklings, fish to rats ... oh and yes eels are a favourite!

I have mixed feelings about this.:indecisiveness:
On one hand, I feel bad for the little gopher for getting eaten, but on the other hand I'm glad the heron got some dinner.:frog:
