Hi,

maybe some of you using cokin filters in the past have an idea?

I am searching for a ND split filter like this hoya

http://www.hoyafilter.com/products/hoya/oef-08.html

but in form and shape like a square glass-plate, which is bigger in size than the diameter of the huge frontlens of the AFS 14-24/2.8. I need that for some special purpose, especially do dim the lights of cities in the valleys below, which you can see in my video here.

http://newswatch.nationalgeographic...tain-timelapse-a-soundgarden-of-night-lights/

when I am able to dim the city lights better I can show more sky (thats a nice application of a split ND filter). I have seen some astrophotographers in the past holding glassplate split ND filters in front of their wide angle lenses per hand just for the long exposures, but at that time I failed to take exact notes what they used.

thanks for any hints.

sincerely

Wow. Was that your video? I saw that a couple of days ago. It was absolutely incredible. I made everyone I saw during the following twenty four hours watch it. I've always had a fascination for time lapse photography. I need to try it one of these days.

Lee filters do a 150 Nd series for the lens you have but its not cheap!!! about 300 sterling! you can use the Hi tech filter system but it wont go out to 14mm ! i have a Sigma 10-20 and below 12mm you can see it!

the only problem with the Lee 150 series is that there is no CP filter as yet! they do a 105 mm one but its about 250 sterling including the attachment ring!!

saying that i have it and its gorgeous!!
