Looking to purchase an Ultra Wide lens for landscape photography. I have read several
reviews on each of the above, but I would like to read your first hand account on any one
of the lenses. Many thanks in advance.

For an Ultra Wide, I myself would get the Tokina, simply for the F2.8 factor. It's a faster glass, and probably cheaper than the others.

I have the Tokina 11-16 F2.8 for more than a year. Beats the nikon counterpart. Its a keeper for me and compliments my Nikon 17-55.
For a DX body, perfect for landscape.

I also have been saving my pennies to get this lens. All of the reviews I've read indicate this lens in many ways out performs the Nikkor 10-24mm. I have not looked at the Sigma 10-20mm only because it's a f/3.5 and I prefer the f/2.8 of the Tokina. Also dollar for dollar it looks to be unbeatable.

About my experience on the Tokina, I usually shoot landscape at F8-F16.
The only times that I have shot this lens @ 2.8 was during an event indoors where I didn't want to use any flash.
So far, it has performed very well.
Yes, the 2.8 is a plus factor on this lens.
For landscape, you "may not" use it (F2.8) but there is a saying " it's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it"

I think the Tokina is a great lens. I recently rented it. I had rented once before and I am saving up so I can add it to my collection. Here's a shot I took with it.

The tokina is the most expensive.

I have heard good things from the sigma 10-20 from a buddy of mine and he has taken some awesome shots with it. And the price isn't too bad

When compared to the Sigma 10-20 f/3,5 we are just talking about 1/2 stop. And i do prefer the focal distances on the Sigma over the 11-16.
In the end there are pros and cons on each model.

Hi guys, I am also looking at wide angle but not sure if I need that wide. The Toknia is about USD 600 used here.

My kit lens is afs 18-105 mm VR. So the f2.8 is just half stop faster but no VR. It is just 7 mm wider. So, would you think I should go for it?

I recently purchased the 11-16 2.8 Tokina myself, and while I haven't really put it through it's proper paces yet, i'm enjoying it so far. The decision for me was ultimately decided by not only the sharpness, but the 2.8 aperture, you just can't find that in any other lens in this class.

If you want to know what this lens can do:

Right now, this is a 'good to have' and not 'must have' lens for me due to $$$.

It is traded around USD550. Of course Singapore is a small island and you travel from east to west or anywhere within the island in 40 mins. There is no need for postage, we can just pick it up at each other door step.

How it this priced over in Europe? Is the price coming down or up?

IMO - You don't really need a wide aperture for landscapes. But when you need it in low light, hand-held conditions instead of the usual long exposures on a tripod - it hurts.

Comparing the IQ between Tokina and Sigma, i went with the Tokina. In situations when you want to show the DOF, e.g. lines on the road - the 2.8 makes a difference. Although if i had the dough, i would go for Nikkor 10-24mm f2.8.

I just purchased the Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8 Pro DX for Christmas. Although I haven't taken a lot of shots with it yet the ones I did take were pleasing to me.

I'm basically waiting for decent weather to move into my area to visit a few of my favorite photographic sites. They include Multnomah Falls in Oregon. I love your first example Pierro. I might have moved the subject off center however.
