Natural Reflection Challenge

Let's work on Natural Reflections, and I don't mean reflecting on the past but making a reflection part of your photograph, Typically we want the reflection not to be in our photographs and we use filters to get rid of them, I am talking about reflections you see in windows, glass, and water just to name a couple. I am not looking for a picture of you standing in front of your mirror with your camera and showing a shot of it. I will not judge that picture of you standing in the mirror. I want this to be as natural as can be, so pull out those cameras play with your f-stop and study your subject. I am hoping to see a lot of entries this week.

Be sure to visit the Weekly Challenge Rules & Guidelines for more information. This thread will be closed on May 18th (midnight EDT)...so get those photos in!

The Rules

1. Photos must be posted to the thread in order to be considered for the challenge.
2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread and taken by you! Because not all EXIF data can be verified, we will use the honor system here.
3. Challenges will be judged solely by the winner of the previous week. There will be no individual voting.
4. Only one photo entry per member, for each challenge.

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Challenge, unless specifically noted by the site administrator. This is a member-run contest, and the purpose of the Weekly Challenge is to encourage member participation on the forums and to keep you taking pictures!

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited/straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

Hi Helene, natural reflections sounds beautiful, I'll have to put on my thinking cap which is always good for me because if you don't use it you lose it.
If the weather stays good I'll be going to a WWII re-enactment at the Old Bethpage Restoration this saturday & sunday they're going out of their way to Honor the Veterans before there aren't any left to honor. So I'll see what reflections I might come across there.

If only I could make myself cheat and say I flew to Mendenhall this week. This is my favorite reflection picture ever, and I'm proud to say I was the one who shot it. Unfortunately it was taken over 2 years ago during my visit to Alaska!

I took this one a few weeks ago 4-24-11 while 4 wheeling with my wife. I had my camera set on A for anything that caught my eye when we happened upon this duck and was able to swing the camera up while pushing the clutch in and coming to a stop before the duck flew off. Wasn't much time to compose the shot better but was amazed at how great my D5000 worked in spite of my fumbling.
