Thanks everyone for the great photos. This was my first time running the weekly challenge and I was a bit nervous about making a mess of things, but it looks like everything went pretty smooth.
Please cast your likes now. Thanks again everyone.

Congrats! @Felisek Can you tell us how made this picture?

Well, it is a bit complicated. First, I experimented with the melon on a black t-shirt and an off-camera SB-700, but there were too many reflections from the t-shirt. I managed to take a picture of the egg this way, though.

Then, I took it outside to my back garden (it was dark). I placed the melon on my tripod, SB-700 on a stand about 10 feet to the right and took a picture handheld. This came out quite well, but, obviously, there were bits of the tripod visible (though my tripod is black, so it wasn't too bad). So I painted them black in Photoshop and added the egg from the other shot. I used a simple trick to make sure that everything in the background is removed. I added a contrast/brightness layer and set contrast to maximum, so I could see everything standing out from the black. I painted these over in the original layer and when I was satisfied with the work, I discarded the contrast/brightness layer.

I don't think it is possible to do it in an unmodified shot. The biggest problem is that you need to put the melon on some surface or stand and this will always be visible near the melon, even it if it is very black.
