Slow Down! - Anco's Choice

DO NOT SHOOT OR POST IMAGES UNTIL WEEKDAY OCT 1

This early announcement of the topic is to give a little think time, before the challenge begins. Photos must be taken and submitted between 00:00 UTC of the start date and 00:00 UTC of the end date.

This photo challenge is "Slow Down". The theme this week is simple, the shutter time should be longer than one second. Inside/Outside, day or night time ... show us what you can do when that shutter starts taking a nap in the open position and have some fun! Let's see how creative you can be! Color, B&W, HDR...anything goes!

The Rules

1. Photos must be posted to the thread in order to be considered for the challenge. No gallery images or off-site links (flickr, 500px, etc) will be accepted.

2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread.

3. Only one photo entry per member for each week, unless otherwise noted.

4. All regularly active members of Nikonites are allowed to participate, including moderators and administrators.

Voting

During the submission & like periods, please click the Like this post button to vote for your favorite images. You can vote for as many as you want! At the end of the week, you will have the opportunity to vote again for the top 3 photos for this challenge!

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Photo Challenges, unless specifically noted by the site administrator.

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited or straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

We have clear skies tonight, so I took this picture in my back garden. There are some lights coming from neighbouring houses (some people insist on having very bright lights outside all the night!), but I managed to isolate a piece of reasonably dark sky. The tree is illuminated by street lights. The satellite came as a bonus :)

Exposure of 30 s, so it qualifies.

My cold-war-era АЧС-1М clock, from the Союз Советских Социалистических Республик. Who knows what odd path took this clock from the cockpit of some Russian military aircraft, to the thrift store where I found it for a few dollars?

5-second exposure, at ƒ5.6, ISO 100. Illuminated primarily by an ancient fluorescent black light, to show the sweep of the second hand from “7” to “8” on the dial, and a rear-curtain-synchronized flash to stop the second hand at the end of that period.

Even though the second hand on a clock doesn't really move all that fast, appropriate to this clock's origin, the extended exposure makes it appear that the second hand is rushin' (Russian) around the dial.

I very much like this one. Such a simple idea so nicely executed.

Just a reminder...under 48 hours to get submissions in before we close for the "likes" period.

If you were shooting over the weekend, get those shots posted!

Two 3 second shots using one hand held flash and one flash laying on ground behind the tree, merged into one image and a little adjustment here and there.
