Food
Weekly Challenge Mar. 16 - Mar. 23

Make me hungry. Lets stay away from restaurant food, fast food, and premade store bought dishes. Sorry you're going to have to save that TV dinner for another time because nothing beats a good home cooked meal. Be it Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Desert. Show me your best home cooked meal presentation. Here's a chance to show off your (or significant others) creative cooking and photography skills all at once.

So dust off Grandma's cook book and make out that shopping list, and lets get cooking. Looks like we're all eating good this week. :D

(Judge's note, recipe's are optional but not mandatory and will not influence how I choose a winner.)

Be sure to visit the Weekly Challenge Rules & Guidelines for more information. This thread will be closed on Mar. 23rd (midnight EDT)...so get those photos in!

The Rules

  1. Photos must be posted to the thread in order to be considered for the challenge.
  2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread and taken by you! Because not all EXIF data can be verified, we will use the honor system here.
  3. Challenges will be judged solely by the winner of the previous week. There will be no individual voting.
  4. Only one photo entry per member, for each challenge.
There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Challenge, unless specifically noted by the site administrator. This is a member-run contest, and the purpose of the Weekly Challenge is to encourage member participation on the forums and to keep you taking pictures!

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited/straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

Just a simple question. Does the "FOOD" need to be a finished presentation, or can it be a disaster in progress? Most of my finished meals end up looking like charcoal briquettes. That's why I usually order Pizza, or Chinese, or Mexican when it's my turn to cook.

As long as there's food in it somewhere!

Dinner.jpg

Homemade Chicken & Broccoli Casserole sprinkled with shredded Cheddar Cheese. I put just a touch of sour cream on the right and a touch of Guildens Spicy Mustard on the left.

The beverage is Kool-Aide, not wine. I made this last night because Mrs Pete is very fond of Broccoli. Myself, I am not quite so enamored of the "aromatic properties" of this evil vegetable, but
I have to admit that it was tasty.

Enjoy

Pete

Great shot Jen. I'm grilling Steaks and Potatos tomorrow and was planning to use a shot of them. I do, however, have a back up plan.

Every time I came up with a shot, somebody beats me to it. I would say to myself... "Dang (I did use the word Dang). This is for the birds. Hence, my Plan B was hatched.

Here's mine- was trying my hand at making strained carrots for my 6 month old and this was the final result before it went into the freezer. Tried a couple of shots, found this one was the best.
